James Pearson signs contract with Barnet

Defender James Pearson has signed a contract with Barnet until the end of next season.

The 23-year-old joined Barnet on non-contract terms at the start of February but has impressed manager Martin Allen enough in his five appearances to be offered a deal.

The former Leicester man is the son of Nigel Pearson and was sacked by Leicester City following an incident on the club’s pre-season tour to Thailand.

Pearson told Barnet’s official club website, “I’m looking forward to keeping up the good work in the rest of the games this season, then pushing on next year.”

Following promotion to League Two last season Barnet have had a productive first season back in the Football League and are currently sitting in a respectable 15th place.

Martin Allen’s side face relegation threatened Hartlepool United at the Hive Stadium tomorrow afternoon.
