Wycombe bring in Rowan Liburd on loan from Reading

Wycombe Wanderers have brought in striker Rowan Liburd on a one month loan deal from Reading.

The 23-year-old has netted 11 goals in 14 appearances for the Reading under 21 side this season and caught the eye last year when he scored an incredible 22 goals in just five months for Isthmian Premier League side Billericay Town.

Wycombe manager Gareth Ainsworth told the club’s official website, “I’ve seen Reading’s Under-21s play on countless occasions and he’s scored virtually every time. He’s a big lad who’s very quick across the ground and knows where the goal is, and we’re very much looking forward to working with him.

”As with any new player, we have to be careful not to expect too much from him too soon, but he is someone we’re confident can give us another dimension up front and I’m sure the fans will warm to him very quickly. “

Liburd has played three times for Reading in the Championship so far this season but is yet to find the net.

Wycombe are currently sitting in ninth place in League Two and are two points off the play off positions. They face a trip to Newport County tomorrow.
