Carlisle United manager Keith Curle is wary of a ‘difficult’ match as his side travel to Blundell Park to take on Grimsby tonight.

The Mariners visited league leaders Plymouth on Saturday, and impressively swatted them aside to claim a eye-catching 3-0 win.

Carlisle themselves claimed an amazing, last-gasp home win against Exeter, but the manner of Grimsby’s win should fill them with a wealth of confidence as they prepare to take on another of the division’s pacesetters.

“Grimsby had a fantastic result on Saturday and they’ve shown again that they’re a very good side,” Curle told the club’s official website.

“We know we have to go there with the right mindset and we have to make sure we do it properly.

“It will be a very difficult game for us but we don’t fear anyone and we’ll treat it as another challenge to be faced. We came in on Monday and immediately set about getting ready, having put the weekend behind us.”

Carlisle’s late-show at home on Saturday was an important win, after their well documented unbeaten run ended the week before at Newport.

Late goals from Shaun Miller and Charlie Wyke sealed a sensational comeback, and Curle knows his team will have to grind out more victories if their hunt for promotion is to end in success come the end of the campaign.

The Cumbrians’ boss said: “We were on a very good run ahead of the Newport game and we know that if we want to stay at the top end of the division we’ll need to produce more of the same.

“We’ve looked at how we think Grimsby will play and we know where they can cause us problems, but we’ve also identified where we can cause them problems as well. “
