GARETH Ainsworth admits it is one of the “hardest parts of the job” to release players from the club as Wycombe prepare for another season in League Two.
Veteran midfielder Garry Thompson, 36, who scored at White Hart Lane in a 4-3 FA Cup defeat by Tottenham this season, and full-back Sam Wood, 30, have been let go by Ainsworth.
Defender Aaron Pierre, 24, has been offered a new deal and the Chairboys are still in talks with ex-QPR and Brentford midfielder Marcus Bean, 33.
