Newport have added striker Flo Bojaj, defender Mickey Demetriou and forward Alex Samuel to their ranks as Graham Westley continues to build a squad that he hopes can survive their relegation battle.

Bojaj, 20, is a Kosovo international that has also spent time on-loan at Kilmarnock prior to this move with the Exiles, while Demetriou arrives on a free-transfer having most recently been with Shrewsbury, and Samuel has signed a youth-loan deal.

Speaking to the club’s official website about Bojaj’s move, Terriers’ Head of Operations Stuart Webber said: “This is an important loan move for Flo and we’re delighted that we’ve managed to arrange this spell at for him.

Today’s trio of signings means Newport have been the busiest Football League side so far this transfer window, with six departures and nine arrivals – an influx that Westley admits could take its toll on the Welsh club’s form.

The Exiles have lost their last eight games in a row, and are rooted to the bottom of League Two, five points adrift of safety, and their boss said: “I’m sure that our fans, like most football fans, are smart enough to know that when you bring players together there’s always a short-term risk, but you’ve got to do that for the long-term gain.

“We’re confident these additions can turn what we’ve got into a winning side.”
