League Two Player of the month nominations announced

The nominations for March’s League Two Player of the Month award have been announced, with the winner set to be named on Friday.

Jake Carroll (Hartlepool United)

After suffering defeat on the first day of March, Hartlepool went unbeaten for the rest of the month as they gave their League Two survival hopes a massive boost. Carroll has played a key role in this run of form and the defender helped Pool to four clean sheets last month.

Carroll also chipped in with two assists and netted his first Hartepool goal in the victory over Dagenham and Redbridge on 12th March.

John-Joe O’Toole (Northampton Town)

O’Toole netted another four goals last month as Northampton Town moved to the brink of securing the League Two title.

Despite beginning the season on the transfer list, the 27-year-old has become a key part of the Cobblers promotion push and has now scored 11 goals in 37 appearances this campaign.

Kemar Roofe (Oxford United)

Roofe is another player who has had a fantastic season thus far and the 23-year-old continued his rich vain of form with an impressive showing in March.

The Oxford attacker netted his first ever career hat trick in the victory over Dagenham and Redbridge and also got on the score sheet against York and Plymouth earlier in the month.

Matty Taylor (Bristol Rovers)

The Bristol Rovers striker was in irresistible scoring form during March, finding the net in seven of the club’s eight league games. This included a perfect hatrick in the 4-1 victory over Hartlepool.

Taylor’s goals have helped to fire Rovers towards the summit of the League Two table as they attempt to complete back to back promotions
