Billy Kee commits to new Accrington Stanley contract

Accrington Stanley striker Billy Kee has put pen to paper on a new two year contract with the League Two club.

Kee has had a superb season, scoring 17 goals 43 appearances to help propel Accrington towards the top of the League Two table.

The 25-year-old came through the academy set up at Leicester and spent time with Torquay, Burton and Scunthorpe before joining Accrington on an initial 12 month contract in the summer.

Kee told Accrington’s official club website, “I’ve really enjoyed it this year. I’d probably say that it’s been my best year in football and that shows because I’m playing with enjoyment every game, the lads are great and the gaffer and Jimmy have been great.

“We’re all really enjoying it and you can see that. I enjoy coming in every day, I have a smile on my face and I don’t think that’s been the case for the last six or seven years of my career.”

Accrington are currently sitting in 4th place in League Two and are just one point off the automatic promotion places. They face Cambridge at home on Saturday.
