Fenwick leaves Victoria Park on loan

Hartlepool United’s Scott Fenwick has left the club to join Tranmere Rovers on loan for the rest of the season.

The striker has not been selected by Pools boss Craig Hignett for their last three league matches, with Luke James and Billy Paynter taking preference.

Fenwick has scored 6 goals in 30 appearances this campaign and returns to non-league football having made the move to Victoria Park from Dunston in 2014.

Hartlepool have faced the threat of falling out of the Football League for much of the season but a run of two wins and two draws have gifted United some breathing space, nine points clear of York in 23rd.

The 25-year-old will be available for selection in Rovers’ Good Friday game against Lincoln City.
