Portsmouth bring in Kieron Freeman on loan

Portsmouth have completed the signing of Kieron Freeman on loan from Sheffield United until the end of the season.

Freeman has made 22 appearances for the Blades this season and is an accomplished player at both left back and right back.

The 22-year-old came through the academy at Nottingham Forest and joined Derby for an undisclosed fee in 2012. After being released by Derby, Freeman made the move to Sheffield United in January 2015.

Freeman told Sheffield United’s official club website, “I got the call from the gaffer and I was excited to come down here because it’s a really big club.

“I know quite a few of the boys already and that will certainly help me to settle in quickly.

“I’ve played in front of big crowds at Sheffield United before and I know that Pompey also have an impressive following.

“So I’m looking forward to getting some more games under my belt and hopefully help to get this team promoted.”

Portsmouth are currently sitting in 5th place in League Two, they face Premier League side Bournemouth in the FA Cup on Saturday.
