League One strugglers Chesterfield are set to fine Sadiq El Fitouri after he’s been absent from the club since Wednesday.

El Fitouri, 22, was given last Thursday off for personal reasons but hasn’t reported back for duty since and the Spireites are ready to punish the former Manchester United man.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Director & company secretary Ashley Carson said: “The player will be fined in accordance with our code of conduct and we will be writing to him to confirm our position.

“We will then reserve our right to take further action if deemed appropriate.

The young defender joined Gary Caldwell’s side in February, having been a free agent after his release from the Red Devils, but has made just two appearances for the club as they battle to stay in the third tier.
