Charlton sign former Brighton man Chicksen

Charlton have confirmed the capture of former Brighton and MK Dons defender Adam Chicksen.

The 24-year-old left-back, who was released by Brighton at the end of last season after only 17 appearances for the club during his three-year spell on the South Coast, has signed a one-year deal with the Addicks.

Chicksen started his career at MK Dons, coming through the ranks to make 78 appearances for Karl Robinson’s side, before his move to Brighton in 2013.

While at Brighton, he found a route to the starting 11 hard to come by, and spent time on loan at Fleetwood, Leyton Orient and Gillingham.

During his spell at Fleetwood, Chicksen helped the side to 10th in League One, their highest ever league finish.

He becomes Russell Slade’s 11th signing of the transfer window, joining player’s such as former Brighton colleague Andrew Crofts, and could be in the squad to face Southampton’s u23’s tonight, in the Checkatrade Trophy.
