Bury sign defender Antony Kay

Antony Kay has signed a two-year contact with Bury following his release from MK Dons.

The 33-year-old began his career at Barnsley, making almost 200 appearances for the Tykes before joining Tranmere in 2007.

Kay then moved to Huddersfield in 2009, helping the Terriers reach the Championship before being part of the MK Dons side that also reached the second tier in 2015.

The midfielder featured 30 times for Karl Robinson’s side last season but could not prevent them from falling back into League One.

Bury manager Dean Flitcroft told the club’s official website, “Antony is a player we have been pursuing for the last six months and I am absolutely delighted to reveal him as our first summer signing and have his signature on a contract for Bury FC.

“We have been working on securing his services since Christmas, he is a player of great character and has the leadership qualities required to reduce our goals conceded stats for next season.”
