Swindon confirm they have rejected bid for Ajose

Swindon Chairman Lee Power has revealed that he has rejected a £500,000 bid from a Championship side for striker Nicky Ajose.

Ajose had a superb season last year netting 25 goals in 40 appearances, which has unsparingly attracted interest from a host of clubs.

The 24-year-old’s form led to him being named in the League One Team of the Season.

Power told BBC Wiltshire, “We did have a bid on Friday for Nicky, £500,000, from a Championship club.

“We’ve got other interest from the Championship, so we’ve turned that down. It didn’t meet our evaluation.

“Obviously we want to keep Nicky. By turning that bid down shows that we do.

“Like anything though, everyone has got a price. We’ll just have to see how that develops.”

Ajose joined Swindon last summer after leaving Leads United. The striker has also been on the books at Manchester United and Peterborough and spent time on loan with a range of clubs including Bury, Scunthorpe and Crawley.
