Liam Kinsella signs new Walsall contract

Walsall’s Liam Kinsella has put pen to paper on a new one year contract extension which will keep him at Bank’s Stadium until the summer of 2018.

The 20-year-old is rated highly by the League One club and has made 13 first team appearances this season after progressing through the academy ranks.

The right-back told the club’s official website, “I’m absolutely buzzing. It’s good to have a bit of stability for the next two years.

“My aim is to play more games and to establish myself as a first-team player. It’s been hard to get in the side this season with the team doing so well.

“I’ve played a few games and I look back on my goal against Burton as one of the highlights of my career so far.

“I don’t mind where I play and I’m just working really hard in training. When I’m given an opportunity I always try to do my best and hopefully I can play more first-team games over the next two years.”

Walsall are currently sitting just outside of the League One automatic promotion places in 3rd. The Saddlers face a potentially difficult trip to Phil Parkinson’s Bradford on Saturday.
