Morison signs new contract with Millwall

Millwall forward Steve Morison has renewed his contract with the club to stay at The Den until the Summer of 2017.

The 32-year-old’s prior deal was set to expire in four months’ time but boss Neil Harris was keen to keep his forward trio of Morison, Gregory and O’Brien.

Morison has scored 10 goals in 37 appearances for the Lions and in two other spells has netted 48 times in 137 appearances.

The striker expressed his delight at staying at the promotion-chasing south-east London club, having re-joined for an undisclosed fee back in August last year.

“I’m over the moon that the contract has been signed,” Morison said.

“It has been in the pipeline for a few weeks now and I’m glad to get it over the line off the back of a good win at the weekend.

“I signed a one-year deal (last summer) with a view to agreeing a new contract and I’ve managed to do that while we’re in a nice position in the league.

“We’ve got plenty to play for between now and the end of the season and it’s been a good year so far, so hopefully we can top it off.”
