This weekend’s Football League betting tips

It’s the last set of fixtures before Christmas, who’ll be hovering near the relegation zone and who’ll be soaring high when the football world wakes up on Christmas Day.

The fight to claim top spot in the Championship rumbles on, and they don’t come much bigger than first against second as table toppers Middlesbrough travel to undefeated Brighton in what could be an early Christmas cracker!

The safe money would be on Brighton to win or draw at 43/100, the Seagulls are unbeaten in 21 league games drawing 10 and winning 11 in the process.

The other top of the table clash sees the in-form Ipswich play host to third place Derby, who are just two points off top spot in the Championship.

Both of these promotion chasers have lost just once in their last six matches in league action. We’re tipping Derby to win and both teams to score at 37/10.

In League One action Gillingham will look to move into the automatic promotion places with three points at Millwall, who themselves will look to edge closer to the promotion places.

Both these sides are coming off disappointing league defeats to league leaders Burton. A score draw is priced at 16/5.

Fleetwood Town are hovering dangerously low with only a better goal difference than Barnsley is keeping them above the relegation zone. They travel to bottom club Crewe Alexandra in a must-win match for both teams.

We’re backing Crewe to win and both teams to score at a tempting 6/1, Steve Davis’ men have won two of their last three matches and only narrowly lost their last match to Doncaster 3-2.

Leyton Orient will hope to keep in touching distance with the promotion places with victory over lowly Yeovil this weekend.

Second from bottom Yeovil are winless in their last 10 league matches and another relegation looks on the cards for Darren Way’s men. In stark contrast Yeovil are on course to claim a play-off place come end of the season.

We’re backing Leyton Orient to win by two goals at 61/20.
