Three managerial movements in a busy day in the Championship

There have been three managerial movements in the Championship today as Steve McClaren and Darren Moore were appointed as managers of QPR and West Brom respectively, while Paul Lambert left his position as Stoke City boss.

McClaren has put pen to paper on a a two-year deal with the Loftus Road club. The 57-year-old former England manager has been out of work since leaving Derby County in March.

Meanwhile it comes as little surprise that Moore has been handed the job at West Brom on a permanent basis. The former center-back performed an impressive job when he was put in caretaker charge of the Baggies, securing a shock victory at Old Trafford as well as a credible draw against Champions League finalists Liverpool.

Despite these credible results, Moore was ultimately unable to prevent West Brom’s seemingly inevitable relegation from the Premier League.

Lambert departs Stoke after just four months in the hot seat at the Bet 365 Stadium. The former Norwich City boss won just two of his 15 games in charge of the Potters as their ten year spell in English top flight came to an abrupt end this season.
