Derek Adams makes Ijaha twelth signing

Non-League midfielder David Ijaha has joined Plymouth Argyle after impressing manager Derek Adams during a trial.

The 26-year-old played 45 minutes against St Blazey in a pre-season friendly last week and has done enough to earn himself a deal at the League Two club.

Ijaha has spent the last two seasons playing for Whitehawk in the National League South, helping the Hawks to the second round of the FA Cup before losing out to Dagenham and Redbridge.

The central midfielder has never made a Football League appearance despite spending time at both Chelsea and Wolves as a youngster.

The length of his deal has not been released by the club but he will be looking to make an immediate impression on the opening weekend as Arygle host Luton Town.

Ijaha briefly worked with Argyle assistant manager Craig Brewster at Whitehawk, with his previous clubs including St Albans, Hayes and Yeading and Harrow.

Adam’s has added twelve new faces to his squad after losing the Play-Off final to Wimbledon in May and will be hoping Ijaha can provide more competition in the middle of the park as the Devon club look to go one step better and gain promotion this season.

After a 1-1 draw with Devon rivals Torquay at the weekend, Plymouth travel to the Netherlands for a pre-season training camp where Adam’s hopes his new signings will really start to gel.
