Accington sign midfielder Bastien Hery

Accrington Stanley have moved to bring in midfielder Bastien Hery after he was released by fellow League Two club Carlisle.

The 24-year-old Frenchman came through the ranks at French giants Paris St Germian and spent time with Sheffield Wednesday and Rochdale before joining Carlisle last summer.

Hery made 20 appearances for the Cumbrians last season as Keith Curle’s side finished in 10th place in the league.

The midfielder is believed to have put pen to paper on a 12 month contact with Accrington, which could be extended for another year.

Stanley Assistant Manager Jimmy Bell told the club’s official website, “We believe he’ll be a fantastic addition. He’s got experience at this level and he fits into our category of player.

He’s hungry and wants to be successful and in that respect he’ll fit right in. We hope he can be successful for the club.”

Meanwhile Hery expressed his delight at the move, saying “’m really pleased to have signed here. I think everyone was impressed by Accrington doing really well last season.

I played here in the night game when we drew 1-1 and it was a really hard game. The manager said he’d seen me in a few games and I was really happy to come here and join the team. I hope I can do well next season.”
