Joss Labadie swaps Dagenham for Newport

League Two side Newport County have signed Joss Labadie from relegated club Dagenham & Redbridge.

The midfielder has made over 50 appearances for the Daggers, scoring six to goals, since joining from Torquay United in 2014.

After completing his fourth signing of the summer Newport manager Warren Feeney told his club’s official website, “I know there were not three or four but five or six clubs queuing Joss’ signature.

“He’s an athlete, he can play and score goals but a.so he’s not one who shies away from anything.

“I just told him that we’re never going to compete with the big hitters in the league but I want a squad of people who want to play for this club and enjoy what we’re trying to do.

“I’m absolutely delighted I’ve got him.”

Feeney took over at Rodney Parade in January after John Sheridan left the club to join Oldham. The former Northern Ireland striker guided County away from a relegation battle as they finished in 22nd place.
