Carlisle sign midfielder Reggie Lambe

Carlisle have signed Bermuda international Reggie Lambe after the 25-year-old left fellow League Two side Mansfield Town.

Lambe has accumulated 25 caps for Bermuda and began his career with Ipswich before having spells with Bristol Rovers, MLS side Toronto FC and Swedish club Nyköpings BIS.

The midfielder signed for Mansfield in 2014 and went on to make over 50 appearances for the Stags, scoring 10 goals.

Carlisle’s head of recruitment Lee Dykes told the club’s official website, “People like Reggie can unlock doors for you in difficult situations. He’s a wide player who can come in off the line, or go down it, and he’s good with both feet.

“We’ll be able to play Reggie in a number of positions, but we’ve spoken to him and we know what his best position will be. Reggie had more financially lucrative offers to go and play at the same level, or higher, but he’s chosen to come here and that’s something we’re very pleased about.”

The Cumbrians finished just outside of the play off positions in 10th place last season and will be hoping to launch a push for promotion to League One next season.
