Luton sign Glen Rea on loan

Luton Town have brought in defender Glen Rea on loan from Brighton until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old spent time on loan with League One club Southend at the beginning of the season and has made two first team appearances for Brighton which have both come in the League Cup.

Rea is known to Luton manager Nathan Jones as the pair worked together when Jones was First Team Coach at Brighton.

Jones told Luton’s official club website, “Glen is somebody we’ve had on our radar for quite a while now. Obviously he’s someone who I know very well having worked with him for the best part of two-and-a-half years.

“He’s a player I like, he’s versatile, he can fit into a number of positions, he’s fit, he’s young, hungry and mobile. He’s a very good player who I rate very highly.”

Luton are currently sitting in 13th place in League Two but are just six points off the play off positions. Jones’ side face a tricky visit to 3rd place Plymouth tomorrow.
