PORT Vale’s Nathan Smith is planning to turn to the experienced Antony Kay alongside him in the centre of defence.
The 21-year-old made his debut for Vale on the opening day of last season and this campaign has been joined by 34-year-old Kay, who has arrived from Bury.
Smith said: “I am enjoying playing with Antony, he’s very vocal during the games and during training – he has been there and done it.
“This year I’m a lot more confident and I’ve got different goals, but, most importantly, we have to try and get points for the team.”
