Gillingham extend Dominic Samuel’s loan

Gillingham boss Justin Edinburgh has extended Dominic Samuel’s loan deal from Reading until 2nd January.

The 21-year-old striker has made four appearances for the Gills so far and has scored one goal, which came on his debut in the 3-1 win over Bury at Priestfield.

Edinburgh expressed his delight at being able to extend the loan deal, telling Gillingham’s official club website, “We are delighted to retain Dominic’s services. He has given us that focal point up front and allows Cody (McDonald) and Rory (Donnelly) to play off him.

“With the busy period we have got and the form we are in and he is in, it is fantastic to be able to extend his stay at the club.”

Samuel has made two first team appearances for Reading and has spent time on loan at numerous Football League clubs over the last three seasons including, Colchester, Dagenham and Redbridge and Coventry.

Gillingham have had a great start to the season and are currently sitting in fourth place in League One. Edinburgh’s side face top of the table Burton at home on Saturday.
