Has the Power gone to his head?

Swindon chairman Lee Power has made the unusual step of putting himself in caretaker charge of the club after sacking manager Mark Cooper on Saturday.

The 2-0 loss to Millwall on Saturday seemed to be the final straw for Power who relieved Copper of his duties with the club sitting in 20th place in League One.

The Swindon chairman has had a spell in the dugout before when he took over as caretaker manager at Cambridge United in 2006 following the sacking of Rob Newman.

Before moving into the boardroom Power had successful playing career as a striker, where he represented clubs including Norwich, Charlton, Bradford and Peterborough.

Swindon face David Dunn’s Oldham at the County Ground tomorrow night.
