IT WOULD be difficult for even the most passionate Wycombe Wanderers fan to begrudge Gareth Ainsworth taking the manager’s job at QPR. After serving the Chairboys as a player with distinction, he managed them for a decade and led them from League Two all the way to the Championship. True, he couldn’t keep the Adams Park club in the second tier, but they gave it a real go against clubs with far greater resources at their disposal.
