RESULTS AXING IS DEFENDED BY BBC

BBC chiefs say they remain committed to ditching classified football results from Radio 5 Live’s Saturday schedule despite a furious backlash against the move.
The decision has been condemned by the Football Supporters’ Association (FSA), while some fans have even launched a petition urging the broadcaster to re-think.
The results service has informed fans of scorelines on 5 Live’s Sports Report show for over 40 years, making former presenter James Alexander Gordon a household name. Charlotte Green took over when he stepped down in 2013.
