SUNDERLAND have got themselves into a bit of a pickle over the last couple of weeks, but appointing Alex Neil as manager could well turn out to be a shrewd move.
True, Neil is not box office in comparison to Roy Keane, who had originally looked set to take the hotseat. However, the 40-year-old has an impressive looking CV with promotions at Hamilton and Norwich already under his belt and has managed in the Premier League.
