SADDLERS SEARCH FOR A NEW LEADER

WALSALL are on the hunt for a manager to preserve their Football League status after calling time on Matt Taylor’s reign.
Tuesday night’s 1-0 defeat at rock-bottom Scunthorpe proved the final straw for the Saddlers hierarchy and former Portsmouth, Bolton and West Ham midfielder Taylor was axed.
The 40-year-old took charge last May but his first EFL managerial role ended in disappointment after Walsall crashed to seven straight league defeats. That left them in 21st place in League Two ahead of yesterday’s game against Tranmere and just four points abo...
