BEN Garrity is unlikely to achieve as much as his idol Steven Gerrard, but he’s already come a long way from Sunday League football on Merseyside.
Heading into the weekend, the 24-year-old had already notched three league goals this term for high-flying fourth tier outfit Port Vale following his summer switch from Blackpool.
It’s a long way from his formative years when he played on Saturdays and Sundays at home in Liverpool for Lower Breck and Oyster respectively, alongside working as an engineer.
