CONCEDING an 89th-minute goal to slip to defeat at Tranmere yesterday was a setback for Hartlepool, but it’s still been an impressive start back in the EFL.
Pools’ return to the Football League ranks may have flown under the radar for many due to the June finish of the National League play-offs. In addition, Hartlepool had only been away for four years, whereas title winners Sutton United were entering the EFL for the first time in their history and were a more romantic story.
