THE ongoing saga over defender Rob Dickie and goalkeeper Seny Dieng, left, at QPR is another example of why the transfer window should not extend into the season.

Both players have been heavily linked with moves. Dickie, especially, is a man in demand after scoring four goals in six games from central defence.
Should either depart, it would blow an enormous hole in the defensive line that is QPR’s primary strength this season, and leave little chance of oven-ready replacements being found.
