SHEFFIELD United will not remain in the Championship relegation zone for long, but a slow start was always on the cards.
The Blades lost 29 games last term, an unwanted landmark never surpassed in Premier League history. Relegation was a formality by Christmas.
A team hammered so frequently and brutally cannot simply begin the next season - even in a lower division - with the same squad of players and expect to thrive.
