WHEN Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, the primary driver of the doomed European Super League, claimed that young people were turning their backs on football, he was right.
There is wealth of data to show that TV audiences are declining and that teenagers are unlikely to watch a full 90-minute match.
What he got wrong was the solution.
According to Perez, viewers are bored of humdrum domestic games and want to see the European elite clash more frequently.
