SIGNING of the season? That award must surely go to Daryl Dike, the Barnsley forward who arrived on loan from Orlando City in January.
The 20-year-old was only granted a work permit after making his USA debut 24 hours before deadline day, but any notion that he was insufficiently skilled to merit employment seems farcical now.
Seven goals in his first 13 games is only half the story. One of them, a spectacular, rising 20-yard thunderbolt against Birmingham, was reminiscent of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
