IT WAS a special moment for Ollie Watkins when he came off the bench and scored on his England debut on Thursday night.
True, it came against footballing minnows San Marino in a 5-0 romp, but that shouldn’t detract from his achievement in making it to the international stage with the Three Lions.
While Watkins has shone in the Premier League with Aston Villa this term, it shouldn’t be forgotten the efforts Exeter and Brentford have made in his development and their fans will no doubt have enjoyed his Wembley cameo.
