IGREW up with 20/20 vision being a marque of excellence in eyesight. In fact, I went on to learn, one per cent or so of people are able to view the Snellen chart at 20/10, a rating twice as good as 20/20, and a world record of 20/8 has been achieved.
Therefore, 20/20 is not quite as good a rating as I had always believed.
In the same way, people moved towards 2020 as something of a landmark calendar year. ‘Century’ and ‘year’ only coincide once every 101 years.
