DAVID MOYES announced himself on the management scene in his first full season in charge at Preston by landing the Second Division title.
Moyes’ attention to deal was the main factor in the Lilywhites making up for the disappointment of a play-off defeat at the hands of Gillingham 12 months earlier.
Jon Macken netted 25 times in all competitions to help Preston finish seven points clear of Lancashire rivals Burnley and ten ahead of third-place Gills, who won the play-offs.
