AITOR Karanka’s plea for his Birmingham players to show character after their worst display of the season was answered at Ashton Gate.

The head coach held a Friday team meeting after describing the 2-1 midweek home defeat by Barnsley as the most concerning since he took charge.
Karanka made five changes and watched with increasing satisfaction as his team dominated the second half against Bristol City.
