Early bird Russells up the winner for Stanley

ACCRINGTON Stanley moved into the top half of the table with a well-deserved win at Northampton.
The visitors should have won by a bigger margin after creating and missing a hatful of chances but Jon Russell’s second minute goal was ultimately enough for Stanley’s fourth win in eight league games this season.
Accrington, who have only just emerged from a twoweek shutdown of the club after 17 players tested positive for coronavirus, have now won five of their eight league games this season.
