FOCUS NOT THE SAME IF FANS ARE ABSENT

ANOTHER week, another round of crazy results. In the Premier League, at least, it’s pretty obvious now that a lack of fans leads to more goals.
Why? On the attacking side, people have got nothing to lose. Players are doing things with a carefree attitude because, if it goes wrong, you won’t get slaughtered by the crowd.
Defensively, though, I think we’re seeing a dip in focus and concentration. Just look at all the errors Liverpool made in losing 7-2 to Aston Villa.
