AFC Wimbledon boss Glyn Hodges hailed the performance of loanee Steve Seddon, who hit a debut goal to secure the points.
The left-back gave his new side the lead shortly before half-time to seal an unlikely victory for the Dons, who spent much of the game on the back foot.
The new recruit from Birmingham, back for a second loan spell, scored after combining with Joe Piggott.
