NEIL SEES RED AFTER EARLY SENDING OFF

PRESTON manager Alex Neil believes Tom Barkhuizen’s first half sending off was the reason his side fell to defeat at home to Stoke City.
Barkhuizen was shown a red card after 22 minutes for a tackle on Stoke defender Morgan Fox, with Lee Gregory’s first-half goal enough to separate the sides.
And Neil felt that his midfielder’s sending off turned the game on its head.
“I wasn’t sure about the red card. Tom (Barkhuizen) was running away and it was a perfect storm him getting sent off,” he said.
