JOSH ECCLES’ display against Gillingham in the Carabao Cup convinced boss Steve Evans to bring him to Priestfield on loan.
The 20-year-old midfielder impressed for Coventry as the Gills claimed a penalty shoot-out victory following a 1-1 draw.
Gillingham have lost Kyle Dempsey for up to six weeks and Stuart O’Keefe for the season to injury, so Evans was quick to pounce. “We had to move quickly,” Evans said.
“He was very impressive. He has a brilliant range of passing, physically strong and lots of energy and it fits with our strategy.”
