DEEGAN ENDS HIS U’S SPELL

LEAGUE TWO
CLUB captain Gary Deegan has left Cambridge by mutual consent to return home to Ireland.
The U’s have terminated the defensive midfielder’s contract, which was due to run until the end of the season, with the 32-yearold yet to make a senior appearance this term.
Head of football Ben Strang said: “Gary has served the club well during his time with us and has always been an excellent professional.” Deegan, who has since joined Shelbourne, added: “I’ve really enjoyed my time at Cambridge and leading the lads was a great privilege.”
