FRIDAY’S news that Roland Duchatelet had agreed to sell Charlton Athletic to East Street Investments was the best early Christmas present Addicks fans could have hoped for.
While there was optimism when the Belgian tycoon first arrived at The Valley in 2014, it quickly turned to frustration and anger at how the club was being run.
Duchatelet added Charlton to a portfolio of clubs he owned in Europe, but clearly didn’t understand the level of competition in the Championship.
