Preston report Stoke over ‘illegal approach’ for Neil

FURIOUS Preston have reported Championship rivals Stoke to the EFL for an illegal approach for manager Alex Neil – but still face a desperate battle to hang on to him.
The Potters believe Neil, 38, is the man to turn their fortunes around after ditching Nathan Jones and could tempt the Scot with a £2m-a-year deal. If he was to quit Preston for Stoke, he would be leaving a club that could go top of the Championship with a victory at Charlton today for one bottom of the division.
