READMITTING BURY WOULD HAVE SET DANGEROUS PRECEDENT

THE EFL had no choice but to uphold the expulsion of Bury. Any other decision would have set a dangerous precedent.
Harsh as it is on Bury supporters, who played no role in their club’s demise, a football team simply has to face sporting sanctions for going out of business.
Otherwise, what will change? The EFL is desperately trying to force their members to spend only what they can afford, eliminating the culture of covering catastrophic losses with loans from wealthy owners.
