GROUNDS NEARS A RETURN TO BOOST CLOTET

BIRMINGHAM defender Jonathan Grounds has taken another step closer to his return from injury.
The 31-year-old has been sidelined with a calf injury since pre-season, but completed 45 minutes at centre-half for the Under-23s side recently. Blues caretaker manager Pep Clotet said: “It’s good news.
“I’m very happy for him as he had the injury in the summer and it’s been a lot of work for Jonathan to get back on the pitch. “Now it’s about him getting fitter, playing a few games for the Under-23s to find his football.
