ELLIOTT CHUFFED TO SIGN UP WITH THE U’S

DEAL: Elliott Ward

HAVING trained with the team for much of the summer, veteran defender Elliott Ward expressed his delight at finally putting pen to paper on a short-term deal at Cambridge.
The 34-year-old – who started his career with West Ham - had been a free agent following his release from relegated Notts County at the end of the 2018-2019 season.
After linking up with the U’s in the off-season, Ward went on to feature in a number of Cambridge’s pre-season fixtures but was unable to settle terms with the club ahead of the new season.
